1. Who we are
Adaptive Independence is an NDIS registered assistive technology supplier in Brisbane, Queensland. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
When you order, request an invoice or book a trial, we collect:
- your name, email, phone and business name;
- the client’s name, date of birth and NDIS number, where relevant;
- plan manager details, and invoice and delivery addresses;
- what you want to order or trial, and any notes you add.
We only collect what we need to supply the right equipment. If you give us information about someone else, please make sure you have their permission, or their parent’s or guardian’s.
3. How we use it
- to process orders, trials and deliveries;
- to invoice plan managers, agencies or self-managed participants;
- to contact you about your order or enquiry;
- to handle warranty claims and approved returns;
- to meet our legal, tax and NDIS obligations;
- to send news and offers, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed, with plan managers named in your order, manufacturers and suppliers (for warranty and special orders), couriers, our website and email providers, and our accountants and advisers. Some providers may store information outside Australia.
5. Security and keeping records
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and limit who can see it. We keep records as long as we need them to support products and meet legal requirements, then destroy them or remove identifying details.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@adaptiveindependence.com.au. We will reply within 30 days. For a complaint, contact us first. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page.
